I have everything I want 'cause my imagination is mine. -Adam Schmalholz
What a strange vintage we are. Constantly needing to photograph each thing, each moment. What other species demands to self archive everything? The same information, experiences, places visually captured over and over again. What do we expect to learn from it; from taking a picture of it all?

Gunung Kawi
Just down a mountain of endless stairs a 1,000 year old temple stood. Among the beauty of a vacation and the tropical jungle there was a path. It led to the right, through and to the left. Unlike everywhere else, the entrance was open.
Damp fermented rice and a clear voice.
An open invitation with a simple price.

Kopi Luwak: Civet Coffee
The coffee belt. That place where all those beans that end up in your cup arrive from. That red berry is the fruity outside that the Civet Cat eats. Now maybe many years ago people did indeed pick up its poop and make coffee out of it.
Now a days its more like this. A caged cat fed an all you can eat buffet of the coffee fruit. Since the beans are hard, this little guy poops them out; as can be seen here. Yep, this guy is pooping.
Why lock these cats up? Well if they were in the wild collecting their poop beans would be hard. These guys would poop in the trees, in the bushes, and everywhere else. Meaning bean poop collection would be hard.
So rather than track down the poop, the cats are put in cages and fed all the coffee fruit they can eat. Its then dried, washed, and ground down. It's then ready to drink.
All bad right. Yep made me sad. But like all things bad, the coffee tastes amazing. Did a blind taste test at the plantation and yes there is a difference and yes it does taste better.
Oh and at the plantation it also costs $5.

Oh The Places You'll Go
What I've seen. Oh what I've seen.
A landlocked boy that spent his childhood as deep in his grandparents swimming pool as the bottom would take him.
How do I get deeper? How do I spend more time at the bottom?
That first time. That first time I saw fish and a depth I questioned whether I could reach.
A friend of a friend that sat at the bottom.
Just last month; that first time last month. Wasn't the deepest. Was the clearest.
down and up up and down
Just last year; that first time last year. Was the deepest. Wasn't the clearest.
A friend of a friend that sat at the bottom.
That first time. That first time I saw fish and a depth I questioned whether I could reach.
I knew how to get deeper. I knew how to spend more time at the bottom.
