The Land Before Time

Winter-Break

But what are you going to eat?

Probably the most common question you'll get asked when deciding to become an interloper. The answer? A lot.

Proper Thai Basil Pork = 60% of the stuff in that dish is season, don't eat it.

McDonalds breakfast menu = Pork porridge (congee)

Thai Basel Pork from a night market in Trang. Cost nothing, tasted amazing, stomach paid for 5-days

$8 Mud Crab Fried Rice in Hat Yai. Address in location, just go eat it

Peanuts and cocktail

The Kingfisher & The Cat

Late afternoon at Shrine of Tham Kong Yea in a sleepy Thai town of Trang.

Sudden squawking of Myna birds drawn to commotion of a cat catching a bird.
Random wandering of interloper by happenchance startles a cat into dropping a bird.

Kingfisher on a roof.
Interloper on a ground.
Each looking at other.

Kingfisher taking flight into a wall by the window.

Soft thud,
Bloodstained wall,
Course correction,
Off between buildings a Kingfisher flies.

Everyone wants execution, but nobody wants to be the executioner

Lets be honest. You won't be able to deal with a pet for the next 20-years.

So stop, don't get one. Just go to that pet cafe, or borrow a friends.

Okay think you can? Sterilize, microchip, and vaccinate. Full stop. If you can't do those 3 things, you under no circumstances should own a pet.

But you went and did it anyway.

Dumping them when they become a pain in the ass just results in a sad pet, and a chain of people who have to euthanize your lack of commitment.

So stop, don't get one. Just go to that pet cafe, or borrow a friends.

To every "pet lover" "animals are better than people" "no kill" where were you when one of hundreds needed help?

Everybody wants execution, but nobody wants to be the executioner.

Function over Form

Yes, the KTM 790 and Tenere 700, with offroad tires are stuck in the river. While the NC750XA, with street tires made it across. Allowing its rider to take this picture.

Redemption came when the KTM 790 found fresh tiger tracks, after both became unstuck from the river bed. Of course resulting in flooded boots for both riders.

Mr. Honda enjoyed dry boots for the remainder of the ride.
