A Room With a View

If you have ever lived within the walls of a metropolis or anything that looks upon something you are indifferent to or dislike, you will know the importance and beauty of a good view. Ever since leaving Tokyo I have imagine myself living in a place that looks out upon the majestic intensity of a metropolis.

Yes, it is just the sun setting upon a heat stroked man made desert. However it is also the infinite realization of a million business plans and ideas. Money walks, drives, and towers above these streets in a fashion seen nearly nowhere else in the world. 

I love Tokyo, because it makes places like New York look like a crumbling museum. This place is indeed a desert; a very harsh one at that. For the unacclimated visitor, it with either awe, disgust, or reject you with a violent intensity. 

Yet this is why you should visit. For some of us might enjoy tumbling around in space someday or have an intergalactic "encounter", for most this place will be the closest analogy in their lifetime to walking on the moon.

Dear Japan/ Kirin Breweries,

I am writing to request your secret formula for awesomeness. Do not pretend like you don't have it. How else could you have come up with Godzilla, Mario, motorcycles that do not break down, hentai comic books, and now this:

No where else on this planet during its entire existence has a human or the universe created 8% alcohol infused juice. Even more impressive was what happened on July 2nd when your Strong Chi Hi's went Cherry.

Maybe you had the Cherry Chu Hi's all along and knew that humanity was not prepared for them until after December 21, 2012. I have read rumors that alien technology was involved. Even stranger, secret subscript on the can hints at Illuminati involvement.

Whatever the case may be Japan/ Kirin Breweries, you and I know that you are indeed in possession of the formula for awesomeness. It is now time to give the rest of the world a chance at using its secrets.

Imagine the possibilities. With its powers you could create a pet Caog; half cat, half dog. Countries around the world could finally unite their technologies to create things like the Marvin, a thing so revolutionary I don't even know what it is.

Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold Bar

Every summer since 2010 Asahi has opened up Extra Cold bars across Japan. The concept is serving beer that has been chilled to around 28 degrees Fahrenheit as a way to escape the hot summer heat. The beer itself has no taste to speak of, because it is so cold. However the atmosphere is lively and since the bar is only open during the summer months it has a limited edition quality to it. 

Additionally for no extra change when you order a beer, you can have one of the brew masters help you pour the beer yourself. After you have successfully poured your beer, you are given an "Extra Cold" card, which has no purpose other than making everyone else in the bar want one as well. 

There are a total of 6 bars in Japan, two of which are in Tokyo and they will all be open until September 30th.
