A window to another dimension. Only difference between TV and AR is it doesn't follow you outside. It doesn't point your eyes away from the world the same way a smartphone does.
We live in an augmented reality; albeit an inconvenient and distracting one. True augmented reality will layer onto our world. Just like a building on the left hand of the sidewalk, it'll just be part of the surroundings. It won't cause us to stare at our living room walls for hours on end or not pay attention when we're crossing the road. No, it'll seemlessly stitch itself into your world.
