Bukit Timah Caves

These man-made caves were constructed by the Japanese during World War II and likely used for storage. 

Interestingly Cave 1 appears to cut all the way to the other side of the hill. When Cave 1 was originally constructed, this was likely not the case. Rather in the years after the war when Hindhede Quarry was still an active granite quarry, it is likely that blasting accidently cut into this part of the cave. I suspect the view is rather incredible if it could be accessed.
