What a strange vintage we are. Constantly needing to photograph each thing, each moment. What other species demands to self archive everything? The same information, experiences, places visually captured over and over again. What do we expect to learn from it; from taking a picture of it all?

Heterometrus spinifer
The Giant Blue Scorpion lives up to 7-year. Is it an insect, no. Is it a crustacean, no. It is an arachnid, because those claws count as legs (for some reason).
Alright, enough of the science. Where did you find this thing? Well it was in the middle of the road up to Mt. Gunung Raya. I stopped to look at it. Then a car almost ran it over. So it was time to take out a stick and toss it across the road.
This particular Giant Forest Scorpion was likely a least 5-year old, 12cm long, and around 100 grams. And... not happy about getting tossed across the road. Yes the stance. Didn't take a picture, just watched till it settled down and lumbered into the jungle.

Ibrahim Hussein Museum
Outside the tropics, time eats everything; eventually. In the tropics, humidity and the jungle eat everything; immediately.
The Ibrahim Hussein Museum on Langkawi closed in 2009 after the artists death. A combination of nature and vandalism has taken its toll, but its still worth a visit.

Gunung Raya Look Out Tower
The D'Coconut Hill Resort and attached Gunung Raya Look Out Tower closed sometime in January 2018.
Located on Mt. Gunung Raya, the tallest point in Langakawi, before the lookout tower and hotel closed, you could pay 10MYR to see a 360° view of the island.
Today while to tower core and stairs leading to the top are still functional, the two bridges leading to the tower and the roof of the tower are rotted. The lower bridge offers the easiest access into the tower, since the door was only roped shut. However, the wooden planks of the bridge are rotten, with some missing. There is a strong well placed rope along the handrail and the center beams of the bridge are still intact. With that said, one wrong step would result in a 30-50 meter drop.
The area has a number of sightseers and the top of the tower is very visible. Taking too much time to enjoy the view from outside will result in being seen. As there is no quick way out of the tower, discretion is advised.

From Seed
You throw packets of embryos and cotyledons into a pile of eroded rocks and minerals. Then just like a pre-amazon mail-order package, something arrives 4-6 weeks later. The sprouts grow, then flower, and finally if everything is right you get some food.
